Starting personal training can feel like a leap, especially if you’re not sure what the first few weeks will actually look like. At Top Tyr Training, your first month isn’t just about breaking a sweat. It’s about building a plan around real data, learning how our tools work, and setting a foundation you can build on long after the initial excitement wears off. Here’s what to expect.
What Happens During Your First Visit?
Your first session starts with a conversation, not a workout. A trainer will talk through your goals, any injuries or limitations, and what “results” actually means to you, whether that’s more energy, less pain, or visible strength gains. From there, you’ll get an InBody scan to establish a baseline for muscle mass, fat mass, and body water. This gives your trainer real numbers to build from instead of guesswork.
How Does Your Plan Get Built?
Once your baseline is set, your trainer designs a program around your body’s specific needs, not a generic template. That might include:
- ARX sessions to build strength safely with resistance that adjusts to your effort in real time
- CAROL rides to improve cardiovascular fitness in short, high-intensity bursts
- Mobility and movement work to correct posture and reduce injury risk
- One-on-one coaching to refine form from the very first rep
Every workout is logged, so your trainer can see exactly how much force you’re producing and how that compares to your last session.
What Does a Typical Week Look Like?
Most new clients start with two to three sessions per week. Early on, expect shorter, more controlled workouts as your trainer teaches you the technology and establishes proper movement patterns. As your comfort and capacity grow, session intensity increases accordingly. Consistency matters more than intensity in these first few weeks; your body needs time to adapt before it can safely push harder.
How Will You Know It’s Working?
Progress isn’t left to guesswork. Around the 30-day mark, most clients get a follow-up InBody scan to compare against their baseline. You’ll also have visibility into your ARX performance data, so strength gains show up in numbers, not just how your clothes fit. Common early wins include:
- Increased maximum force output on ARX exercises
- Improved recovery times during CAROL rides
- Better movement quality and reduced discomfort in daily activities
- A clearer sense of which areas of your body need the most attention
What Should You Expect After the First Month?
By day 30, most clients have a good feel for the rhythm of training at Top Tyr Training and a program that’s already been adjusted based on real results. Your trainer will use that first month of data to fine-tune your plan, whether that means increasing resistance, adjusting session frequency, or shifting focus toward a new goal.
